Mark was raised in San Diego, California, where he attended the School for the Creative & Performing Arts. Here, he studied Voice, Music, Dance and Acting. Upon graduating, he furthered his studies in the Arts under a full scholarship at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. He majored in the Theatre/Arts with a minor in Psychology.

After completing his studies and performing in many Theatrical Productions, Mark embarked upon a career in Television. For the past twenty years, Mark has Directed, Shot & Edited TV News, Commercials, Promo,s Entertainment Programs for Local & International Network Television. He has worked extensively with MSNBC, CNN, FOXTV, NBC, ABC, CBS, ESPN,

The Today Show, Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel. He has also covered Two Superbowls, One World Series and has shot for the David Letterman Show. He now has his own company Nicholson Video and continues to do Broadcast Television, Corporate & Legal Video and Weddings.

Mark began seriously composing and performing Piano relatively late in Life. Beginning in 1995 Mark started developing what he feels to be an inspirational gift. In 1998 he began performing in Public professionally. He has performed at Hotel La Jolla in California, the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, In Mexico at the Hotel Mendoza in the Center of Guadalajara,s cultural arts district, UCSD Faculty Club, for the March of Dimes , and at various coffee houses and private parties as well.

In 2000 Mark recorded his first full length CD A Touch of Spirit at Studio West in Rancho Bernardo. In 2005 Mark recorded his 2nd CD Free and Clear live at St. James By the Sea Church in La Jolla on a Bosendorfer piano.

Marks Music is relaxing and tranquil yet uplfiting and inspirational. It is totally original and classically based. It could be described as New Age/Classical Instrumental. The sound of it is somewhat reminiscent of Debussy, Yanni, George Winston, David Lanz, Erik Satie all combined into one yet with the original style of Mark Nicholson..
